Pokémon GO boosts 3DS sales

Nintendo 3DS topped July hardware and software sales..

According to the NPD Group, the Nintendo 3DS topped July hardware and software sales. Unit sales themselves are up a solid 80% versus last July and games like Pokémon X & Y are up 200%.

Pokémon GO doesn’t quite give Nintendo much of a boost on its own, Niantic gets the direct profit. But indirectly we can see that sales for both hardware and software are definitely seeing a high return for the company.

I’m curious to see as updates roll out how this will affect Nintendo’s bottom line going forward.
