The MLB has approved Nintendo’s decision to sell its majority stake in the Seattle Mariners. Nintendo now owns only 10% of the team’s shares. Former President Hiroshi Yamauchi initially bought the team back in 1992 with the eventual intention to return the team back to local investors. It remains to be seen what this means for Nintendo in the long run but being able to focus on their core business is most likely in their best interest.
